Akwa Ibom power politics has entered fire-for-fire mode as shocking allegations hit Government House like thunder. Governor Umo Eno is at the centre of a storm as insiders claim he has perfected a covert plan to fund APC and PDP statutory structures with FAKE CONTRACTS allegedly routed through the Akwa Ibom State Environmental Protection Agency (AKSEPA), Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, and Hensek Integrated Services.
According to our source, Hon. Etim Akpan, the newly-installed local government political leaders have allegedly been ordered to submit company names for “contract settlement,” code name for political funding and loyalty payments.
He further maintained that the Governor is being pushed by some political bigwigs, who, according to Hon. Akpan, reportedly told the Governor to fire on with the plan, insisting he must “secure loyalty” and not trust Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Those allegedly fingered to be pushing the green light include the Minister of Petroleum (Gas), Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo; Deputy Governor Akon Eyakenyi; Secretary to Government Prince Enobong Uwah; Chief Assam Assam (SAN); Engr. Uwem Okoko; Monday Ebong-Uko (Monty), and Hon. Frank Archibong.
Another source, who pleaded to be kept anonymous, said “Their warning to the Governor was blunt: Don’t trust Akpabio, build your own structure before he turns against you.”
So far, the scandal has taken a spiritual turn as party insiders claim the new “loyalty squad” has allegedly begun administering the dreaded traditional oath (MBIAM) on statutory delegates to secure loyalty and silence.
The anonymous described the imbroglio as “politics with shrine backing. If allowed to stand, will be the biggest political ritual scandal to hit the state in years.”
Our reporter has confirmed that the entire blueprint reportedly took shape in Dubai, where Governor Umo Eno allegedly met with SSG Enobong Uwah, Frank Archibong, Monday Ebong Uko, and Engr. Uwem Okoko.
The hush-hush meeting was said to have been held as the Governor returned from China with a mission to “Clip Senate President Akpabio’s wings, control party structures, own both APC and PDP grassroots.”
But in the words of Hon. Akpan “Akwa Ibom Politics Has Entered Red Zone. The gloves are off. The shrines are out. The money pipes are warming up. The battle for 2027 has started way earlier than the public realized.”
“APC aborigines please note and know that the current struggle for the soul of APC by Udom Emmanuel boys is a battle between Udom Emmanuel and Senate President Godswill Akpabio and not Governor Umo Eno. Governor Umo Eno is the platform enabler,” Hon. Akpan stressed.
