The Managing Director of the South South Development Commission (SSDC), Ms. Usoro Akpabio, on Thursday, November 6, 2025, joined top government officials and development partners at the penultimate event for the week; a High-Level Stakeholders’ Engagement on Regional Development held at the Centre for Counterterrorism, Office of the National Security Adviser, Abuja.
The strategic engagement, convened to advance inclusive and sustainable regional development across Nigeria, was graced by the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, who was ably represented by the Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Senator Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia.
Other dignitaries in attendance included the Minister of Regional Development, Hon. Abubakar Momoh; Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu; and the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Regional Development, Dr. Mariam Masha.
Also present were key representatives from national and international development institutions, including the National Coordinator, National Counterterrorism Centre (NCTC), Major General Adamu Garba Laka; United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Nigeria, Mr. Mohammed Malick Fall; UNICEF Representative in Nigeria, Ms. Wafaa Saeed; and the Representative of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Sir Olusegun Adekunle.
The penultimate event for the week provided a vital platform for high-level dialogue on strengthening regional development structures, enhancing inter-agency collaboration, and promoting sustainable socio-economic growth across the six geopolitical zones of the country.
